This year, Foshan Municipal Party Committee and Foshan Government vigorously support the launch of investment projects to promote high-quality development. “Ten innovation-leading characteristic manufacturing parks” and other high-level industrial carriers were created. What’s more, a department to promote investment was established to optimize the institutional mechanism of investment services and attract more investment.

The latest statistics show that in the first nine months of this year, Foshan signed a total of 339 projects worth of 100 million yuan (more than 10 million U.S. dollars), with a total investment of 265.662 billion yuan (80.05% of the annual target). Among these projects, six are in the primary industry worth of 1.4 billion yuan; 276 projects in the secondary industry worth of 209.808 billion yuan and 57 projects in the tertiary industry worth of 54.454 billion yuan.

While providing momentum to the economic growth, these major industrial projects will also lead Foshan"s industry to a higher level. For example, the South China Hydrogen Energy Industry Base intends to build production lines of membrane materials, carbon paper, fuel cells and power systems, as well as a research and development innovation platform for fuel cell technologies, forming a hydrogen energy industrial base integrating research and innovation, high-end manufacturing and applications.
